The second term of Nalanda’s full-time 5-year residential Basic Program will begin on July 7th. Geshe Jamphel will continue teachings on Chapter five of Shantideva’s Bodhisattva’s Deeds and Venerable Fedor will continue as second teacher.

We welcome students who would like to join this intensive and unique program in mid-stream. It is certainly a rare opportunity for the 12 subjects of the FPMT Basic Program to be offered in such detail and with a high degree of emphasis on meditation and discussion over a 5 year period. This program is ideal for monastics, those considering ordination or those who wish to study the Basic Program in such a complete form. Students can attend individual modules as accommodation allows.

At the moment we offer a truly international community with 16 nationalities in residence. We have translation available from Tibetan to English, Tibetan to French and English to Spanish. Tibetan languages classes, a Rains Retreat (scheduled from September 14th to November 12th) and support and instruction for those considering ordination are also available.

We will do our best to find a bed for all male students at the monastery. If not, students will need to arrange accommodation in the village of Labastide St. Georges or the town of Lavaur. We do have a house rented for female students very close to the monastery, but beds are very limited.
